Soso is a little worm living in a bin in the backyard of an apartment building. A little girl named Nil feeds him by tossing her food scraps into his bin after every meal. Because Soso lives in a compost bin! In this book, Soso the worm tells us his life story, and along the way, we learn how we can make compost. What does this natural fertilizer, which is so beneficial for plants, do, and how is it made? Sima Özkan explains to young children in simple language how we can easily make compost using the scraps from our daily meals. We learn that nature constantly renews itself thanks to compost; and we witness this process through a scientific experiment we can do in our own backyard or on our balcony. By trying to make compost at home or at school, children will also be introduced to recycling at an early age.
